Why should that be important to you?  

Because ‘Janners’ (Plymothians) are great people – straightforward, honest, and ‘salt of the earth’. In fact, 72% of Plymothians interviewed by ‘Plymouth Live’ in September 2020 said they were proud to be called a ‘Janner’ and believed it to be an old naval term.  

While this is open to debate, it nonetheless ‘fits’ the City’s proud naval and seafaring heritage. We wanted a company name that reflects the character of Plymouth and its residents.
